Curriculum
At Study Buddy tutoring, we provide an engaging and enriching curriculum in Maths and English for Upper Key Stage 2 learners, designed to build strong foundations, boost confidence, and solidify core concepts. Our approach aligns with what students learn in school but goes beyond the classroom to deepen understanding and develop higher-level thinking. Lessons are adapted to a wide range of ability levels, ensuring every learner is appropriately challenged.
SATs Prep
In the lead-up to Year 6 SATs, we provide targeted support that boosts performance and reduces anxiety. Our SATs prep is fully aligned with the national test format but enriched with strategies that build understanding. We focus on key exam skills such as time management, question analysis, and written reasoning in both Maths and English. Our goal is not just to raise scores, but to equip learners with the tools they need for a smooth transition to secondary school.
11+
We cover all key areas of the 11+ exams: Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Lessons focus on building speed, accuracy, and advanced problem-solving techniques, alongside comprehension and vocabulary development. We incorporate timed practice papers, strategy coaching, and exam-style questions to ensure familiarity and confidence.
Formal & Informal Assessments
We use a blend of formal and informal assessments to track progress and identify areas for further support or extension. These include low-stakes quizzes, diagnostic tasks, teacher observation, and termly progress checks. Galore Park revision guides form the basis for structured learning. Homework and in-session activities are designed in line with GL Assessment criteria, ensuring relevance and rigor. Weekly homework tasks are set to help pupils reinforce and apply new skills and strategies introduced during lessons.
